Fiendish Friday's

“An eye for an eye is never enough.”
Kallie Riviere, a Cajun hoodoo apprentice with a bent for trouble, learned the meaning of those ominous words when hoodoo bogeyman Doctor Heron targeted her family for revenge. Now, while searching for her still-missing bayou pirate cousin, Kallie finds out the hard way that someone is undoing powerful gris gris, which means that working magic has become as unpredictable as rolling a handful of dice.
The wards woven to protect the Gulf coast are unraveling, leaving New Orleans and the surrounding bayous vulnerable just as a storm–the deadliest in a century–is born.
As the hurricane powers toward the heart of all she loves, Kallie desperately searches for the cause of the disturbing randomness, only to learn a deeply unsettling truth: the culprit may be herself.
To protect her family and friends, including the sexy nomad Layne Valin, Kallie steps into the jaws of danger . . . and finds a loup-garou designed to steal her heart–literally.
Today's FF  is the review of Black Heart Loa" by Adrian Phoenix!  This book picks up exactly where the last book "Black Dust Mamba" ,in the hoodoo series, left off!  High excitement as the book is off and running, literately, running!  Jackson has been kidnapped and Kallie and Belladonna are off to track Jackson down and to kick some ass...well that was the plan, but flying by the seat of your pants seems to work soooo much better, lol!  No surprise that the evil Doctor Heron has targeted Kallie's family and friends, and to protect her family and friends, she searches for a solution for all the problems that have been plaguing her world.
Sexy Layne Vallin, the nomad, is right in the middle of the mix, and the heat is turned up 140 degrees between Kallie and Layne.  The steam could be felt flying of the pages! Wow, is it hot in here or what?  Anyone that has read any of Adrian's books before this will not be disappointed in "Black Heart Loa"!  A thrill ride for stat to finish with enough heat to burn down the whole Bayou! 4,75 out of 5 Stars!
I am very excited to announce that July 24 Adrian will be here it do a character interview, and best of all she will be giving away both books in the hoodoo series, "Black Dust Mambo" and Black Heart Loa" signed!  Squee!  And to one other lucky winner another of her books of the winners choice also signed!  Isn't Adrian Great?  So be sure to turn in on the 24th of July for the interview and giveaway! Be sure to check out Adrian's web site@ http://adrianphoenix.com/blog/hoodoo-series/black-heart-loa/
All my Best!

The next author on my list as funny is Anette Blair!  She has the funny bone tight in her grip and has no plans to let go ant time soon!  Most of her earlier books came out in groups of 3, but the newest series (which I just finished reading, and as usual, was fantastic!) may be more that the 3, because dear readers, their are several MORE gorgeous dragon bothers that have yet to come through the viel!  So, I for one, am hoping for more...
If you like the quirky and funny magical novels, this is the author for you!  She will keep you laughing and add a little mystery into the mix and will keep you happy with all the HAWT  men you could possibly ask for!

Fiendish Friday's

This will be the first of my segments on Fiendish Friday's!  I have lots of ideas to explore, but for today I wanted to touch on the subject of FUNNY paranormal fiction!  So we'll get off with a bang!      First on my list (in no particular order) is the incomparable Nina Bangs!  She is hands down one of my favorite authors!  These covers are just a few of her books that available!  Nina writes with Hawt men, Hawt passion and an incorrigible sense of humor, humor that is somewhat raunchy!
Ganymede and  Sparkle Stardust are cosmic troublemakers and are these books comic relief and take a lot of pride in their roll in life.  Ganymede resides inside of a LARGE cat and Sparkle runs a candy store.  Keep your eyes on these two, because, like their name implies, trouble follows them where ever they go!
Ganymede  from Nina's Facebook page, was so cute I had to share!

Skyrockets in Flight Blog Hop Delight

Vamps in Chicago!
You'd think headlines like that would have provoked the fine citizens of the Windy City to take up arms against us bloodsucking fiends. Instead, ten months later, we're enjoying a celebrity status reserved for the Hollywood elite—fending off paparazzi only slightly less dangerous than cross and stake-wielding slayers. Don't get me wrong, Joe Public isn't exactly thrilled to be living side-by-side with the undead, but at least they haven't stormed the castle yet.
But all that will change once they learn about the Raves—mass feeding parties where vampires round up humans like cattle and drink themselves silly. Most civilized vampires frown on this behavior, putting mere mortals at ease with their policy of asking a person's consent before taking a big gulp of the red stuff. However, that doesn't make good copy for a first time reporter looking to impress his high society family.
So now my "master," the centuries old, yet gorgeously well-preserved Ethan Sullivan, wants me to reconnect with my own upper class family and act as liaison between humans and vampires—and keep the more unsavory aspects of our existence out of the media. But someone doesn't want people and vamps to play nicey-nice—someone with an ancient grudge.

They killed me. They healed me. They changed me.
Sure, the life of a graduate student wasn't exactly glamorous, but it was mine. I was doing fine until Chicago's vampires announced theirexistence to the world-and then a rogue vampire attacked me. But he only got a sip before he was scared away by another bloodsucker... and this one decided the best way to save my life was to make me the walking undead.
Turns out my savior was the master vampire of Cadogan House. Now I've traded sweating over my thesis for learning to fit in at a Hyde Park mansion full of vamps loyal to Ethan "Lord o' the Manor" Sullivan. Of course, as a tall, green-eyed, four hundred year old vampire, he has centuries' worth of charm, but unfortunately he expects my gratitude-and servitude. Right...
But my burgeoning powers (all of a sudden, I'm surprisingly handy with some serious weaponry), an inconvenient sunlight allergy, and Ethan's attitude are the least of my concerns. Someone's still out to get me. Is it the rogue vampire who bit me? A vamp from a rival House? An angry mob bearing torches?
My initiation into Chicago's nightlife may be the first skirmish in a war-and there will be blood...
So the summer months have gotten off to a major heat wave, and to celebrate, several blogs are joining together to make the heat a little more bearable!
My offering in this giveaway will be by author Chole Neill!  I have "Friday Nights Bites" and "Some Girls Bite" up for grabs!  The Chicago Land Vampires is a wonderful series, that according to Chole herself,  has about 8 total in mind for this series!  My offering is for the first two!  These are the big trade paperback sized and are a wonderful read!

Now for the rules:  To enter you must be a BACTB follower and leave a comment with your email (EX:email name(at)the site (dot) com! A winner will be chosen at random and I will email the winner!  The winner has 48 hours to get back to me, in the event that I don't receive a response another winner will be chosen!
Contest is open to the continental United States!
Contest is open from July 4th through July 10th.  Spreading the word about the contest isn't required, but appreciated!  Good luck to everyone and thanks for stopping by!
Here is the linky to get you to the other blogs!

Review of Hunt the Moon by Karen Chance

Cassandra Palmer recently defeated a god, which you'd think would buy a girl a little time off. But it doesn't work that way when your new job description is Pythia — the world's chief clairvoyant. Cassie is busier than ever, trying to learn about her power, preparing for her upcoming coronation, and figuring out her relationship with the enigmatic sexy master vampire, Mircea.

But someone doesn't want Cassie to become Pythia, and is willing to go to any lengths to make sure the coronation ceremony never happens—including attacking her mother before Cassie is even born.
Just finished reading "Hunt the Moon" and I have to say that I loved ths book,  HTM  was a non stop trill ride that begins with Cassie battleing an unknown entity during her bath and the excitement was off and running!  With her usual fly-by -the seat of her pants approach to life, she stumbles for one crisis to another.  When it feels like she is catching a break, all hell breaks loose again!  I love the dynamics between Mircea and Cassie,  His Alpha "you'll do as I say" and Cassie's "up yours" was classic Cassie Palmer.

The action never slows down from start to finish and the ending left me gasping in denial!  Just could not believe that I will have to wait for months *sob* to read what happens next!  I also love the pairing of Cassie and Pritkin, as a team they kick some ass and take names for future reference...and I am starting to believe that no one, supernatural or just plain human, could hold a candle to this pair of kick ass team!  Thought out the book, Cassie is slow gaining control of her Pythia powers, and when she finally gains control, she will be an unstoppable force that anyone would be a fool to mess with her!  (My favorite kind of heroine!)
The only message that I have for Karen is, Please don't wait too long to continue this masterpiece of bad-asses and drop dead gorgeous men, I don't think I could haddle the long wait...  In me you have a fan for life.  Karen Chance just proved once again why she is on my automatic buy list!
Check out her web site @

I give this 4.75 out of 5

Computer Woes

Hi!

So I've been having problems, first my tried and true computer, much like an old friend, crashed for the last time, *sob*, and needless to say it felt like loosing a best friend! (Anyone one else feel that way?)  I am one of those people, you know the ones, whom have to be drug, kicking and screaming, into the 21st century @#&^$#*& I am talking BIG TANTRUM!  So having to admit that my old computer was history, was hard for me and harder to spend more money for said new computer!  Goodbye dear friend, I will miss you...

I am officially a member of the new decade!  Brand spanking new computer, with all new things to learn...groan...but I'll get there...eventually!  But meanwhile, I haven't been able to post anything in weeks!  Talk about your internet withdraw!  Holy smokes, you would think that we had the internet all of our lives, har har!  Now I am having problems with my internet provider, yeah, now that I have a new computer that runs lighting fast, no internet.  A girl just can't catch a break!
There is good news, though!  I've had this extra time to come up with some very cool ideas for blog post, and a new title and day of these new post, Fiendish Fridays!  So be sure to tune in every Friday to see what madness yours truly will come up with next!
Well that's all for now, same bat time, same bat channel!
